Is it safe to travel during pregnancy?

It is safe to travel during pregnancy as long as you have not experienced any complications.  The best time to travel in pregnancy is between 14-28 weeks (2nd trimester).  Taking trips outside of this window may be acceptable, but you are encouraged to discuss this with your provider.  If you are travelling by car, make sure to wear your seatbelt and to stop every couple of hours to stretch, walk and empty your bladder.  If you are on a long flight, make sure to do the same.  If you are planning any trips during pregnancy make sure to talk with your doctor before you leave.  Taking long trips after 36 weeks is generally not recommended as you could go into labor at any time.
