About - Sandy Winn, W.H.N.P.

Graduate School: Regis University, graduated 1994 with Masters of Science, Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner

Board Certification: WHNP-BC, Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner – Board Certified

Sandy enjoyed growing up in small-town Minnesota, and moved to the (relatively) big city to attend the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. A Bachelor of Science in Nursing followed in 1982, as well as her marriage and move to Colorado (1984). She continued staff and charge nursing in the Birthing Center, the Mother/Baby unit, and later ran the Prematurity Prevention Program at Memorial Hospital here in Colorado Springs. Sandy returned to school to earn a Master’s of Science Degree and my Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner Certification in 1994.  She has been providing care for women of all ages since then, and has found it extremely fulfilling. Hormone health and wellness has become a particular area of expertise over the years, and she prescribes compounded and implanted hormone therapy (including testosterone) in addition to treating a wide variety of women’s health issues. She has that same husband (of nearly 40 years), two grown daughters, one son-in-law, and three grandchildren.  Two pups and a kitty round out her joys: a lab-hound mix (“Max”), a Fox Red lab “Rosie”, and little “Stella.”

"I am genuinely thrilled to be continuing and expanding so many great professional and patient relationships here at Exceptional Care for Women."
